Quality Schools for Medellín (Colegios de Calidad para Medellín)
The “Quality Schools for Medellin” project is administered by the Ministry of Education and implemented by the Urban Development Corporation (EDU). This project aims to improve the quality of education, reduce early dropout rates, foster community engagement, integrate schools into city life, and recover public space. Its main objective is the consolidation of a new educational infrastructure through the construction of 10 new schools while maintaining and improving existing institutions through a new model called OPEN SCHOOL. Open School caters to the needs of each community, seeking to integrate schools into existing urban structures and improve access to health care, recreation, and sports.
